Paint Pricing?
I just called the dealership for quotes on the GT/CS bumpers with paint and without.
I was quoted $565 for the painted front and $291 for the unpainted, and $495 for the painted rear and $314 for the unpainted.
This would be painted from the factory.
The painting on the front bumper costs an additional 93% of the actual bumper.
The painting on the back bumper costs an additional 58% of the actual bumper.
Do these prices with paint seem fair [these are the lowest prices I've seen for unpainted]? Could I get it painted cheaper with the same quality somewhere else?

not sure about the pricing. but if you get ford to do it you get oem quality. if you have someone else do it for cheaper you always run the risk of A. the paint doesnt match or B. the quality overall sucks. i have seen it all before. but lets see what other people say.
the nice thing about the mustang's is most of them use very simple colors so they are easy to color match. where as cadillacs and other cars put a lot of metallic/flake in the paint making it much harder to duplicate. on that note i just got a front bumper painted and installed for 250. lifetime warranty and i think it matches perfectly
actually, many of the S197's colors are metallic.
But you shouldn't look at the cost of paint as a % of the cost of the part!
You should compare it to local paint shops prices in your area.
While the factory paint job might be high, they should do a really good job. The downside is that there is always the risk of damage in shipping or unpacking the parts. That's why it's probably best to just buy the part at your local Ford parts counter. You shouldn't be charged for shipping, since they get scheduled deliveries anyway. And you can prep it as much as you want.

You sure on the price of the GT/CS front bumper? I'd double check on it. The price seems really cheap. The cheapest I've seen it online is $400-500 something I think, not including shipping.

You must be getting employee discount budd.
Anyway, the painted prices seem OK. About $200 per bumper.
