Have to ask, just what do you hope to accomplish by free revving an engine to redline?

NEVERrev your engine unless it is at operating temperature. Make sure the little needle that shows coolant temp is exactly in the middle between hot and cold before you sit there and rev the living h3ll out of your car.

Why must the engine be at operating temperature before you rev it?

if you rev cold then you risk engine damage due to not being fully lubricated
sure oil has fully circulated after a couple sec but its not heated yet so its thicker and hasn't gotten to the narrower places

you might not notice it from once or twice but if you keep doing it then your "playing with fire"

the tighted spots aren't fully lubed yet so they could take damage
(connecting rod on the crank)
(main bearings)
ect
