Default Cervini's 67 Hood

I was about to pull the trigger on ordering a Cervini's 67 Hood and have it dropped shipped to a local body shop I spoke with. The hood will cost $495 and they were going to paint it for ~$750. So it would run about $1250 + shipping.

But I just ran into this http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=200211508472. Hood + paint for $795 + shipping. Does anyone see anything hokey looking about this or the process they describe in prep and paint? Obviously my big concern would be a good color match.

first off,if your shop is charging $750 to paint one of those hoods then they are ripping you a new one.

i would be worried about fitting the hood BEFORE paint to make sure all the lines are good, cervinis from what i have heard is one of the btter hoods for fitting the first time around.

once its painted i would be worried about it getting scratched in the shipping process, somewhere on that hood they have to hold it down to keep it from moving around

price is good for a painted hood shipped to you,i would just be concerned with those things i mentioned,if they gaurantee fit and can ship it back at thier expense then i would say all is good with that deal.but i think you coyuld get it painted local for under $400.

It should really be fitted first, and yes that is a very steep price to paint it. Shop around for a better price. Plus Cervinis WILL NOT take a hood back if it's been painted, should any problems be found.

I have put aftermarket hoods on my car before and I would definately have it fitted before painting it!

I just bought the 67 hood and I am having it installed this week while I am having some other work done. You want to have it fitted first.

I guess Paul is on the ball... Proud of you budd.

$400 is the max for painting a hood, so any shop with any name (famous or not) that want more than that...
Tell them to f...k off!!

Also, I installed/painted a 67 Cervini, and I was happy on every level.

I was quoted around $750 too. this included painting the underside and top fenders (to match the shade). to all the guys that are saying over $400 is too much....are the fenders and underside included in the paint jobs?

The underside is included but not the fenders.
Also that $400 or lessquote, doesn't include the prep time on fiberglass hoods if it's too intensive.

So there isn't one price fit all with fiber hoods.
