Default Air Condition Delete

i never use my air condition and i was looking at the routing of the surp. belt. It looks like all you need is a smaller belt to delete the air condition.

Does anyone make a kit, or has anyone done it themselves??

Its not going to add any more power, but it let the engine spin up faster. Just like UDPs.

There shouldn't be much drag from the air con compressor when it isn't on. I might be wrong on this though. I would rather run a UDP and electric waterpump before I removed/disabled the air con.

If I had a list of top ten worst mods, this would be #1. No gain of any sort and you'll kill the resale/trade-in value (the AC system will eventually fail fromnon-use due to seals drying out and internal corrosion - then you're looking at probably $700+ to restore it). I can think of a lot of other ways to get the engine to spin upfaster, plus when the compressor is not on, there is virtually no drag. Plus don't forget you probably use the front defrost function which would be disabled without the compressor. I'll bet driving in the rain in the middle of summer would pose some problems - think about it.

All pain, no gain.

...actually, if you were a really hard-core track-only racer, the only gain would come from weight savings by completely removing the AC system.

There is no perceivable load when the AC clutch is not engaged.
Now removing the compressor, condensor, evaporator and all associated
AC components might save you some weight up front and add a few HPs.

Bad idea.... end of story. Electric water pump and UDPs is the better choice.
