As far as gas mileage between V6 and GT, there is not much of a difference depending on how you drive. Also, not much of a difference on Auto and Manual transmissions either. The shift points on these 5-speed autos are awesome, making for sufficient mpg. I have a 2005 V6 Manual that I drive 50+ a day commuting and city driving on the weekends. She's got 63K miles on her now. This car has been the most dependable car I've had. I can't really speak for the GT since I don't own one or commute in one. But from my V6 experience and the longterm reliability I've heard others experience, it's pretty impressive! There are several folks on here close to 100K or more without major issues. The way car prices are going right now, the price in buying a brand new 2008 V6 to a brand new 2008 GT might not even be a $4K difference. Do your shopping and you may find a deal on a GT that you won't regret. ALWAYS do your research and get EXACTLY won't you want, that's for sure

The 4 liter engine is a good one. Millions of Ranger trucks can't be wrong. It has been given the test of time and has passed with flying colors.

FROM MF RULES #2 -
While debating and discussion is fine, respect your fellow enthusiasts. Being of a diverse background, members are likely to express different opinions, and while opinions may differ from yours, they are just that, opinions; and everyone is entitled to express theirs freely. We will not tolerate rudeness, insulting posts, personal attacks, or engine/platform bashing (i.e. V6 vs V8, SN95 vs S197, etc). Do not flame, bother, bug, disrespect, hound or taunt ANYONE on the forums or through private messaging or chat room. If we feel a thread is getting out of hand we will close or delete it. You can/will lose your posting privileges if you continue this type of behavior.

Did y'all notice we added that little tidbit recently? Since I don't have time to babysit, it's time to reach for my keys...
