Default Maintenance Schedules?

I was looking at our maintenance schedules and it looked pretty vague, so I put together a more detailed set (based on other sources, e.g. Car Care Council, Ford Fleet Maintenance, etc. and including our maintenance pamphlet) ... What do you think? I designed it towards Severe Service (mostly stop-and-go city driving):

Inspect tires & tire pressure - every week
Inspect all lights - once a month
Motor oil + filter - every 3,000mi or 3 months or 200 hours of engine operation
Lubricate Lower Control Arm + Steering Linkage Ball Joints w/Zerk Fittings - every 3,000 miles or 3 months
Rotate & inspect Tires & wheel end-play and turning noise - every 3,000 miles or 3 months
Multi-point inspection - every 3,000 miles or 3 months
Check battery charge + electrolyte level - every 3,000 miles or 3 months
Inspect Brake System - every 5,000 miles or 6 months
Parking Brake Adjustment - every 7,500 miles or 6 months
Check and replace (if necessary) all window wipers - every 6 months
Transmission fluid - every 15,000 miles or 12 months
Coolant - every 15,000 miles or 12 months
Fuel Filter - every 1 year or 15,000 miles
Inspect & lubricate all non-sealed steering linkage, ball joints, suspension joints, half and drive-shafts and u-joints - every 1 year or 15,000 miles
Air Filters - clean or replace once a year
Brake fluid change every 2 years or 30,000 miles
Spark Plug Replacement - every 2 years or 30,000 miles
Change Transaxle Fluid - every 2 years or 30,000 miles
Lubricate Front Wheel Bearings, Replace Grease Seals, Adjust Bearings - every 2 years or 30,000 miles
Change Transfer Case Fluid - every 2 years or 30,000 miles
Inspect complete exhaust system and heat shields - every 2 years or 30,000 miles
PCV Valve - every 2 years or 30,000 miles
Timing Belt Replacement - every 3 years or 48,000 miles
Power steering fluid change - every 3 years or 48,000 miles
Change rear axle lubricant; non-synthetic only - every 5 years or 75,000 miles

I guess changing the oil/filter every 3,000 would depend on how hard you are driving your stand. My local dealer switched to synthetic and its recommending every 5K.

You might have trouble changing the "timing belt every 3 years". Let me know whenyou find it.

EDIT: while you`re under there, keep a sharp eye out for that "transaxle" Might as well look for the "transfer case" too.

The guy at the Stealership said to change your Air Filter every 3000 miles, he said that the manual stated 5000 miles.

What do you think?
I think you need to spend a lot more time learning about the damn car you are driving rather than post bull$hit like this.

Overkill. Tire pressure once a month unless you have a know problem. Rotate every 5000 miles. Any sooner is crap. How do I crack open the battery? Don't use my parking brake, (ever), WAY overkill on the tranny fluid and coolant, brake fluid every 3 years, crap I'm tired of looking. Just follow the freaking book.

i think replacing the air filter every 3000 miles is over kill. I will clean mine once or twice a year, then again I put 5000 miles on my car a year...if even that much
