I had myself conviced to go with the Cervinis 67. Now that I see this I am having second thoughts. Will it fit on a stock GT? Also is http://www.shelbyperformanceparts.com the only place to buy?

I think we should get a petition together and have trufiber or some other well known company to make these but make them functional i know i would buy one im sure im not the only one that wants one at a reasonble price, and oh well if it gets popular i hardly ever see stangs with aftermarket hoods to begin with

Joolander, yes the water does in fact sit in the edge ridges of the recess after a wash or rain, so it does create a bit of a problem if the vehicle is not garaged or kept out in poor weather conditions for a long period of time.
The hood is a definitely a decent quality hood, but it is surely not perfect. As long as the body shop is experienced with aftermarket work and fiberglass body work, it shouldn't be a problem at all. Like all fiberglass, some blocking is required along with full prepping and fitment testing.
If done well, the finished product is not too bad at all.

I've seen this hood with 2 different looks. On the inside of the "scooped out part" that we can't see in any of the photos, someone had a installed plastic grill. Like the kind that covers the leading edge of side scoops. I'm pretty sure they were on one of the cars at the Stillen event. The Shelby GT-SC?
I don't know if they were functional or not. That would be very cool if they could pop open on acceleration! Or maybe turn signals could be put in, like on the old muscle cars, that only the driver sees?

you can order the plastic grille from shelby as well, it's just a peice of plastic that is double taped to the inner curve.. the Shelby GT-H has it.
