New V8 Fender Emblems
ORIGINAL: jdmcbride
I thought about putting 4.6L in there, but so many in this forum have the "small engine complex" when they pull up next to a 6.0L GTO or Chevy. I happen to like the 4.6L motor in our cars, but I hear so much complaining about the size. I thought that the V8 would state the obvious.
BTW, Ford could have done a lot better than the "GT" that comes on the car.
Thanks for the replies.

Instead of the V8, what about putting the GT in there or 4.6L

I dont mind our 4.6L, its more a matter of weight. Our cars have an average, not good or poor, weight for the 4.6L and its HP and torque output. Its a much more efficient setup than having a heavier car with a 6.0 going the same speed but using more gas to do it. (Like the new Challenger).
The thing is, 4.6L isn't really something to brag about, even if its a very efficient and great design. Unless its a mustang owner, all they're going to know is "Thats so small for a muscle car!"
So no I wouldnt put 4.6L on the side.
V8 is cool, but then people expect you to be fast and unless you unleash the beast, you'll be accelerating with traffic the same as they are.
I prefer GT....

I didn't like the GT either so with the aid of a heat gun they came off. I bought 2 "Powered by Ford" badges from Scott Drake in L.V. for $35.00 ea. The size is just right to cover the 2 holes used for the GT.

The Powered By Ford emblems are going for $24.95 each on http://www.partscheap.com/mustangaccessories05.htm
I really dont mind the 4.6 thing,
even though "back in the day",we bragged about "cubes" not "liters"
I love the "tri-bar" and wouldn't mind seeing what it looks like on my car,
But I would hate to be accused of being a,
"POSER V6"
To the OP - what about using S197-V8 or S197-V6 on the emblem? This way you'll have two different styles tooffer (with minimal changes to the casts) and you will also be expanding your profit potentials?
*By the way, if this suggestion flies, I expect a set for free*
