I didn't do the screw, therefore I didn't screw up. Kiddin'.

I instead, put a spacer in place, made out of soda can and 3M tape in the back of the pedal lever.
That way, it rests against the housing and never return completly back.
That means, I eliminated the dead traveling of the pedal.

I tried first with a piece of sheet metal cut outfrom a wrecked fender, brought to me kindly from GM.
It was too thick in conjuction to the 3M tape. My idle went to 1800rpm, not good.
So I had to find something thinner and the aluminum from the soda can was the answer.

The brushes trick is a great mod to the credit of "tube", if the spacer thing doesn't work.

You're welcome...
Take note that it's all in the thickness of your improvised spacer.
Since no cars are 100% identical, you might need more spacing or less, than I did.
You have to play with this.

When you have something in there, replug the pedal assembly and let it hang by the connector.
If it starts to rev, reduce the thickness and try again until your idle is unaffected.

It worked for me, it should do the same for others...

My concern is when you go to pass and floor it, and the car waits a whole second before going WOT...and I have an SCT 2 tune. Gotta get that tweaked by my local shop where I got the tune I guess...

I don't have a spot at the beginning of the pedal where this thread is concerned...or I haven't noticed it !?!

I also have the problem with it waiting a second from a roll for it to get going when WOT, and I have a tune as well....very annoying....

Thats HAL waiting to see if youreally want to do go WOT.
Are you guys AUTOs, I always try to click OD off first,
helps alittle, but these things just don't like going from roll.
I have BAMA tunes, theyall seem to due it, no dead space
attop of pedal.

Thanks to all who contributed to the threads relating to this issue! We just got a new V6 auto a couple weeks ago and didn't like the dead spot at the beginning of the gas pedal travel. Even though I'm an electronics technician, I really didn't want to bend the brushes and favored an adjustment screw or shim to adjust the resting position of the pedal. I was able to rotate the potentiometer cover enough to fix the problem without elongating the holes any more than stock. Perhaps I just got lucky, but I would recommend trying this first. It's quick, easy, free, and reversible if you go too far.

I think the idea of bending the brushes a lame idea when the real problem is the alignment of the case. My O7 came from the factory with the case adjusted correctly and no dead spot off idle.
