Default New cars?

I just bought a brand new 08 GT with now 300 miles on the clock .ok my question is, is there a certain amount of miles you should have on the motor before you start drivingit hard, high revs etc... i have heard that you should wait 5k miles and I have also heard this is a myth... Can anybody clear this up for me?>

maybe give it a 1000 before you tear the streets up but for the most part the motor is broken in.....

I wouldnt wait 5k if i were you you might go crazy. I waited 1500 miles before I really pushed my car to its limits and started drag racing it. Still under 15k after 3+ years though so i cant vouch for a motor that gets abused and used a ton.

Meh, they're pretty much broken in when you get them, take it easy for the first few hundred, but otherwise drive it like you stole it. I did from day one. Especially with how much this computer learns, you want it to learn that you like to get performance out of it, otherwise it may be more sluggish.
