Default Horrible deal!!

So I'm driving my mustang home Saturday night and Its about 1:00 a.m.(technically Sunday). There is a car off the side of the road, I look at him to see what is going on and when I glance back at the road there is debris all over the highway. I am going around 75 mph, and barley get time to hit the brake, no time to swerve and then I notice a huge steel object in road, I run right into it and it felt like the car came off the road on the drivers side, It was a huge jolt. I immediatly pull off the road and my low tire pressure light has come on. I get out to inspect damage and I have two flat tires and two bent rims.
I just bought the wheels and tires about a month ago, and I am sick about the whole situation. The police officer won't even say it is the other guys fault, but says its a road hazard. The other guy had hit the gaurd rail and ripped his fender and wheel and other stuff off his car, He did get ticketed for inattentive driving. Right now it looks like his insurance will flip the bill but its not for sure, makes me nervous as hell.

Is there anything I should check for as far as axle damage or anything like that? I was very lucky, it looks like no body damage, and no one got hurt.

Here is a few pictures from before the wreck, I don't have any after shots.

You're lucky you didn't get hurt....That's what insurance is for, in particular if his pays. And YES, when you get those wheels replaced, and in this case I would take it to a Ford dealer, they should check the ENTIRE under carriage for damage.

Cute kid.... I have two six year olds.

That sucks man. Sorry to hear it. Like the other guy said get it checked out to make sure the car is safe. Glad it wasn't worse.

That sucks to hear. I would be super pissed if I had just gotten the wheels too. Hopefully they will pay for it at least.
BTW, nice looking car.

Report this to your own Insurance as well.
They should fight on your side and they'll have more weight than you alone.

BTW, the cop was a douche bag. Road hazard my ****!
The debris you ran over, were from the result of a collision, not froma red neck losing his bottle jack.

Good luck with it all.
