Default BASSANI MODULAR X-PIPE

What do you guys think of this system? It sells for 388 at Brenspeed. It says that it's made out of aluminized steel. Steel with an aluminum coating? What does that mean? Is it a direct bolt-in replacement for to the stock cats and h-pipe? Thanks for your help!

I have the stainless one. It's a direct bolt in, but its a bit of a pita to install. Sounds good though. I like it.

I put it on for a few minutes and then took it back off and sold it.
The sound was ok,.....not as aggressive as I'd wanted.
I had major issues with the design of the system.
For one thing, when I had it on, the exhaust hanger on the right side was tapping against a bolt in the transmission crossmember causing a really loud rattle. The hangers are designed poorly with a very obtuse angle instead of a right angle like stock or the Pypes or Prochambers.
The really dumb thing was that the X-pipe has a slip joint in the rear which fits over your tailpipes. Besides crimping your tailpipes when clamped down, this makes it nearly impossible to remove the cats and put in the race pipes because there isn't enough room to get the tail pipes to slide out of the X. You'd pretty much have to remove the whole thing to do the exchange.
I was not impressed. [:'(]

I bought thewarmachine's setup and I love it. I had mine hung differently so I don't have to worry about the rattle, the only time I have a rattle is when I hit a really bad bump, and I avoid those anyway. I even still have the stock mufflers, and I like the sound.

You can see by my post and thewarmachines, that it really is up to what you want. The quality is fine, I'll probably have mine removed and reinstalled by welding as opposed to the bolt in option. Not worried about removing the cats anyway. I suggest you go listen to some sound files and decide that way, that's why I jumped on these, love the sound.
