Dilemma
So I'm planning on upgrading from my 07 V6 to something more powerful and I'm facing a dilemma. I'm in love with the body style of the California Special which is shared by the CS and the Shelby GT. Now, the dealerships around here sells the Shelby GT's for 39,000 at sticker but I know I can negotiate down from that. The GT/CS runs me about 34,000 fully equipped with a nav system and everything. But, if I bought the CS then I would have to go back and do something to the suspension, the exhaust, and the CAI. On the Shelby, on the other hand, I would have to add a spoiler (can't live without it) and the nav system. So the Shelby would end up costing around 5000 more no matter what I do. But, it will also be a cooler car and keep its value better. Which one should I choose and what else should I consider in making my choice? thanks

RE: Dilemma
if you're planning on dropping around 39,000 on a new Shelby GT and then another $5000 after that, why dont you just try to find a GT500 around sticker (i know they exist) and get that???
then you have the shelby name and a fast supercharged car all in one

That being said, with incentives (maybe different in your area) you can get $2k off the GT/CS right now... that's what I did.

RE: Dilemma
yeah, maybe...but I know a guy at the dealership (bought the previous sixxer from him) and he can get me the Shelby around 36-37 K
and as for the go with the GT500 comment, around here thay have a "limited availability" add on price of 15,000...so that makes the two that the dealership have cost 62,000 dollars...considerably more than the Supercharged Shelby GT

RE: Dilemma
for the money, you could fly to a different state (within reason) and buy one for MSRP and just drive the bastard back home...it'd be one hell of a fun road trip in your brand new GT500...just my opinion
fyi...southwest flys one way for $99 right now...
$99 plane ticket
$150 in gas to get back home
= you just got a GT500 for $249 over MSRP as opposed to $15,000
but only if you really want one
