Dilemma
Exactly where can you buy the GT500 for MSRP? I would love to do a road trip if I could buy one for little or nothing over MSRP...
My friend's father just bought one for her and he put down almost 70 K in buying the car locally with mark ups and options...

A very good friend of mine just bought an 08 Shelby GT500 for MSRP sticker which was right at $47,500 very well equipped. It was Torch Red with white stripes, shaker 1000, satellite radio, ambient lighting and such. There were no other add-on dealer costs, just tax and tags. The Ford dealer was in Harrisburg, PA. So check around, they are out there.

So I'm planning on upgrading from my 07 V6 to something more powerful and I'm facing a dilemma. I'm in love with the body style of the California Special which is shared by the CS and the Shelby GT. Now, the dealerships around here sells the Shelby GT's for 39,000 at sticker but I know I can negotiate down from that. The GT/CS runs me about 34,000 fully equipped with a nav system and everything. But, if I bought the CS then I would have to go back and do something to the suspension, the exhaust, and the CAI. On the Shelby, on the other hand, I would have to add a spoiler (can't live without it) and the nav system. So the Shelby would end up costing around 5000 more no matter what I do. But, it will also be a cooler car and keep its value better. Which one should I choose and what else should I consider in making my choice? thanks

if you're planning on dropping around 39,000 on a new Shelby GT and then another $5000 after that, why dont you just try to find a GT500 around sticker (i know they exist) and get that???
then you have the shelby name and a fast supercharged car all in one

I guess you can afford it, so I'd say go with the Shelby, no doubt. You're done! Then like you said, supercharge afterward.
Although the CS is nice, its just cosmetics, and the Shelby, aside officially having the Shelby name on it, and a CSX (or is it CSM?)number, also has some performance goodies with the cosmetics. Some people say the Shelby's "aren't all that", but hey, its a Shelby, I'd love to have one!

Powerful is the key word in your first sentence. Buy a GT and supercharge it if you want power. The CS is A$$ to be honest with ya.
