Im looking into gears my self. I have the stock 3.55 and its really gas and my highway driving that keeps me away from the 4.10's. Ive heard a couple of people tell me 4.10 are harder on the motor on the highway do to the high rpm rev.

I'm no pro but i cant see how everyone thinks 3.31 give you more top end when i dont believe stock wise are cars have enough power for it to even matter. I bet my car w/ 3.55 will reach a higher speed then some one who has 3.31. I'm i correct to be thinking this? I just think ford put the 3.31 for gas and not so u could reach a higher speed.

I still may get 3.73 for three reasons.

1.) has to improve my 1/4 by something lol

2.) im crossing the line redline 3rd gear at the track, im crossing the line at 6100. so i want to have it in 4th way b4 the line.

3.) i would think it would not kill my gas nor put to much extra stress on the motor.

I know my 3.31s are not quite as quick as if i had 3.73's or 4.10's, but I love being able to go 40+ in first gear and 70+ in second. Plus if I do go to the track, I should never have to shift into 4th unless I end up getting someboost or juice.

that extra shift to fourth will more then likely negate any advantage with the gears.

i had stock 3:31's on my t5 and i hated them.....i just put in 4:10's and i LOVE them!!!!

I've got 3.31s on my GT/CS and I like them. Granted this is my first V8 powered car, so even with this gearing it still feels really fast to me.

I have been thinking about getting some 3.73s but I'd really like to go with FI so I'm probably going to leave well enough along for now...

ive got stock 3.31's in mine and have no complaint yet. everyone is still telling me to switch to 4.10's

If you only have minor boltons, 4.10s will actually improve your top speed too.
