Borla stingers! Problem solved. By FAR the best sounding axlebacks for the S197.

I'm happy with FRPP GTAs (50 state legal and don't void the warranty): http://videos.streetfire.net/video/J...RPP_154294.htm

Just installed Ford Racing Performance Parts (FRPP
wait, when did any axle backs void the warranty??

I don't know. For me it is just better safe than sorry. I once had to argue with a Volvo service dept about after market rims/tires I had on an S40.

With my Mustang, the dealer struggled to resolve CEL issues and ultimately replaced the throttle body (all covered under warranty). I could easily imagine the service manager trying to blame such problems on after market exhaust (even if it doesn't make sense). So, I just felt a little safer buying Ford Racing parts.

You could go with the pypes mid muffler system. They sound great but installation is a b***.

There are alot of different one's out there, if I could do it over again I would try to go to some car shows, dragstips, meets, etc. Or just pay attention(roll down your window when you see a S197 around), to listen for that sound you want. Most mustang owners, that mod their car, are freindly and if you hear a set-up you like try to ask the owner what it consist of, and go from there. Because these video clip's don't do 99% of these exhuast set-up's justice.

I am a huge fan of the FORD GTA Exhaust. There is no drone and the sound pitch is perfect. The rumble is louder than stock but, it will not annoy you (or your neighbors) when you are driving. Plus, I like the look of the 4" rolled tips coming out the back of the car... and you can't beat the price. I think it is the best bang for the buck.

Well I just ordered those very mufflers so I will see for myself. They do seem to be a good bang for the buck though considering almost every time they are talked about they are mentioned in the same line with another muffler costing twice as much.
