Default Fuel gauge to empty.. now engine light

Looking for anyone who's seen this, and corrective action taken...
Car's got 28,000 mile on it. About three weeks ago I was driving around, heard warning beep and then saw "Data fuel low error" message on dash. Immediately, gauge went from 3/4 full to pegged on empty. I restarted it and correct gauge reading came back, but then I had an check engine light. Car still ran fine and I continued to drive it. Several days later check engine light cleared itself.

Now today, the same sequence of events happened again. Currently, check engine light is on, but fuel gauge is working.

So... it's not a fluke apparently.

i think this happened to someone

fuel pump access cover).

Under the rear seat on the drivers side.
Its the fuel pump assembly and LR wheel
speed sensor harness plug. Some claim
that these two plugs come seperated
at will or when the rear seat is removed
for whatever reason. Looks like I need
to take a pic of this connector for future
