Default X pipe, GTA or Boomtubes?

Wanted to get some opinons on how an X Pipe (from a 03 Cobra 2.5 inches)would sound with my 06 GT. I am only considering the X pipe right now and no other mid-pipes because I can get it for free! As of right now the only performance mod I have is a CAI/Tune. I am looking for something with little/no drone and that is not obnoxiously loud.

Please let me know how the sound of the setups below compare to one another:
[ol][*]Stock Axle Back- just replace H Pipe with X pipe[*]New Axle Back - keep H Pipe and get the FRPP GTA (don't want this with X pipe)[*]New Axle Back - keep H Pipe and get some boom tubes (don't want this with X pipe)[/ol]
My guess is that if I get an X pipe I will get the best bang for my buck....since it will increase performacne slightly.

Let me know your thoughts.

Personally, I would say get the X and the GTA's. They sound awesome on the Shelby GT's. I am biased towards GTA's myself. I have a set and loved them before the header install and have only come to love them more after the header install.

Before the headers, the GTA's where nice and quiet in the cabin, but outside, when ya stomped on the gas, people would take notice. Not obnoxious, but loud and throaty sounding... the kinda sound thatmakes youlookand nod as it goes by. They are slightly louder after the header install.. If bone stock was a 3 loudness on a scale of 1 to 10 and straight thru open pipes is a 10, the GTA's take it to a 4.

Bob,

Did you have the GTA's on without any other mods to your exhaust? If so, how did they sound?

I have the GTA's without any other exhaust mods, and I think they sound great! Most people on here don't think they're loud enough, but I think they're perfect...

Ok I dont mean to post jack but as I understand they give a good throaty sound (GTA's), Can anybody point me in the right direction of some good sound clips for them.

Just me I would go with the X-pipe for any of them that you go with, but I just like the x better so I am biased

Has anyone heard what the x-pipe sounds like by itself with stock headers/axle backs? Also, how much HP can I expect from it?
