I've never heard them called "tabs". "tags" though, ya.

He's talking about renewing your registration and liscense plates and getting the replacement stickers instead of new plates.

I think mine are right around $100 here in Indiana. I think it is $140 for new ones and $60-$80 for renewals (tags). Our county/city has a "wheel tax" too and its extra taxes when you get your registration. It's supposed to pay for "road repair" but I don't know where the money goes cause they don't fix the potholes with it! I'm gonna have to get an allignment for my baby just because the roads are so bad. (also checked 2 curbs).

I didn't realize they varried by car. I thought all car drivers had to pay the same thing.

It would be interesting to see what they vary by state to state

registration here in NC isntbad....prolly 50 - 60 bucks....where they nail you is on Property taxes on your car. Last year between my bike and truck mine was over 600 bucks.

registration here in Florida was $76.90 for both of my cars. So $38.45 for one car. That's for one year.

tags are 75 per year in memphis, no matter what you drive. 2008 Corvette or 1981 chevette
