To Stripe or not to stripe...
Trying to decide whether or not I want to go with stripes...If I did I would probably buy a kit and have a local body shop put them on...Has anyone done this? If so can you recommend a good kit and/or supplier? (one that isn't outrageously expensive)I want it to be full coverage from the ground in the front to the ground in the back...I want silver...Anybody got any tips? Horror stories? Suggestions????? Thanks!!

RE: To Stripe or not to stripe...
Good question. Dunno if I'd do it again, or if I did, I would do more research and find a
great body shop to paint them on.
Baltimorestreetmods.com has a good reputation around here, though I can't speak for the
quality of their stuff personally.
If I were to do it over, I would have ordered from them and done it myself. No one cares more
about how your car looks, and your time, than you. Unless you can get some great local
references. I took my Ford Dealer's input, WRONG! My stripe guy has had two chance to
do it right, although it's much better after the second pass. I have yet to see, in person, a
"perfect" vinyl striping job (don't send me pictures, I want to see one I can go over with
a fine tooth comb), I think I would prefer to say I did it myself and have it not be perfect,
than having to say I paid for it to look like I did it...
Make sense? Probably not.
Good luck.

I think pant is the way to go if your going to do it. Mine has the dealer installed vinyl stripes. In the heat of the moment picking up the I didn't notice they were crooked on the hood. My neighbor noticed, Now it's killing me. It goes in next week to give them another shot. I already let them know that anything less than perfection is not acceptable. If they don't get it right I ask for the money and put it towards painting them. Just make sure you get to see some of the shops work before you let them touch yours. Good luck.

BG LEE, If you was in Virginia, I would have done them for you for free. I did mines myself and I must admit, they are perfect. There is no Bubbles, and there located exactlywhere they belong. Its pretty easy if you take your time, clean the car real well, and can measure. There will be area's of the car that recuire splicing......

My kit is from Baltimorestreetmods, and I've been happy with it. Parts of the stripes on hood are chipping off, so I'll be restriping soon when I install my Roush hood scoop(they haveprecut kits for the Roush scoop on BSM's website)

My friend Brandi here in Texas had the dealer put black stripes on her yellow Mustang and they came out perfectly...I guess it just depends on which dealer you go to
and Cartel, dude, I bet the "secret" to your mods is that there are none

Paint is the way to go if you can afford it.
I went with vinyl originally due to cost and after only 2 summers they were discolored, peeling in spots, cracking along the body lines. They looked good at first but it didn't last.
Now that they are painted on it is like night and day.
Plus with painting you can get whatever color you want. They color matched my stripes to my wheels and it looks awesome.
