Default Moleskin Tint Protector Install

There might be a thread for this somewhere else, but can't find it.

I got my moleskin strips today from Tintprotector.com. Apparently the install involved disassembling part of my door panel. I haven't even look through all the instructions yet, but I wanted to post to see if anyone has had problems with taking the door apart or putting it back together.

I want to make sure I'm aware of any problems I might run into before I start doing this.

Thanks in advance!

The only hard part was lifting the door panel up and off.......other than that its pretty easy, once you follow the instructions carefully.....and cut and stick it exactly like they say....sand and clean the rubber strip real good.....I allowed mines to sit 24 hours before installing........Good Luck

Here is the Link, with TACOBILL.......One of the best detail instructors on here

No it's super easy. TacoBill did a write up that should help you quite a bit. I'd look at that before even bothering with those instructions.

A yard stick or straight edgewith arazor would be handy for slicing the moleskin....you can also try a scissors

OK. Now get this. Like I said before I hadn't even looked through the instructions that came with the tint protector and I read TacoBills tutorial instead. Just flipped through the instructions that came from TintProtector, and guess what!?!?

Over Half the pictures and steps are from TacoBills instructions! He should be getting a cut of the profit from this stuff!

If I get my windows tinted professionally, is there any chance that they will have the moleskin already?

Chain1, some tint shopsdo have moleskin and would install it for an extra cost....If I was you, I would call around and ask first. I would recommend you to do the Moleskin before the Tint's. Even if your not ghonna lower your windows untill you get Moleskin. You'll still get a 1" scratch at the bottom when you open and close your door from the Short Drop.....Moleskin 1st....Tint 2nd

I know the 2 good tint shops in my area (1 in town, other 1/2 hour away) do their stuff cause they like it...given they make money too. But if you order your moleskin on your own and offer them $20 to put it on while they have your door panel off and stuff I'm sure they wouldn't mind. Explain the situation and it won't take them but 10 minutes extra...I know the guys here would be happy to help out like that, maybe even for free.

I know grand prixs have this problem too...at least according to my friend w/ one.
