Default Question about front suspension

Does anyone know if the dust boot on the front strut is a MUST?? If so, where can I get one for a good price?

Thanks.

Why what happened? I do know you reuse it if you switch out your struts.......should be cheap from the dealer IMO... J

I have not personally checked but folks have posted on this forum that you can not buy the dust boots separately, they only come as part of the kit including the whole strut. I got a tell ya - I have D-Specs and switched the boot from the stock strut to the D-specs, per Tokico's instructions, and they don't do a very good job of protecting the strut anyway, its not sealed.I suppose it keeps mud and rocks and stuff from hitting most of the shaft, so they are probably a good thing to have.

mygt500,

I am embarrased to admit that I snapped the head off of the top of the strut when trying to disassemble it. I had the spring compressors on it, the first strut I accidentally turned the shaft the wrong way and "snap". Now I bought 2 new cheaper struts and don't know if they will come with boots.

I will try the dealer if they don't come with new boots.
