Default Playing rough with my toy, I broke something

Well, all the runs at the track, all the powershifting, it finally caught up to me. After the track tonight, on my last run I could not get her in third. Something finally broke. When I am driving normally now, no matter how much I push in the clutch and how slow I am going, putting it in third, the gear grinds like crazy. It is only happening when I go into third.

Diagnosis anyone? Synchro? Remedy?

Thanks

Snychros if it still goes into thirdbut with grinding.
Try speed match shifting by keeping the
rpms at what third wants after coming out
of second and trying for third. Less grinding
while speed matching means synchros are out.
Or a bearing or a thrust bearing.

yeah it still goes in third, just with the lovely grinding and vibration. I'll try doing some rev matching and see if that reduces the grinding.

Any idea what that costs to fix?

Thanks

2K?
Not sure .
There are some Ford workers on the forum.
PartsBill is one of them??
Maybe they could ballpark it for you.
Might as well beef up that clutch with
a better aftermarket one if you have been
rompinit hard enough to strip third synchros.
Maybe get one of those bullitproof aftermarket
trannies instead of getting that ford ranger tranny fixed. []

The key words here being
"After the track tonight,"

Gotta pay to play.

What aftermarket tranny options are out?

I figured this would be a good time to get a new clutch and flywheel.
Well, I was getting the whipple in a couple of weeks, I guess that will be on hold for a little longer...
