Just so everyone know you can't siphon gas out of tanks. It's been a while since you could.
Care to elaborate?

There's is an anti siphon mechanism inside the filler neck that only allows the gas to go in and not out. Go try it on your own car. Stick a hose down there and suck on it, see if gas comes up.

I have a locking cap.
Transferred the lanyard from the oem to the aftermarket.
It doesn't scratch the paint when it hangs down because it's plastic, except for the lock, which is flush.
I also have an aftermarket cover, so no place to tuck the lanyard, but as mentioned above, no need.
The locking covers look cool, but I haven't seen one with the crease, or line if you will.
Without the crease, they are a bit difficult to adjust so that they follow the cars lines, and never look right in my opinion.

I didn't want to deal with the hassle of trying to get the plastic ring off. Ended up getting a locking cover. Moss motors.
I have to take my keys out of the ignition to open it when I get gas. So I can't listen to the stereo[]

Why would you EVER leave your keys in the ignition if you're not sitting in it? Easy pickings if two guys who were bigger than you to just shove you and run.

Just because it's plastic doesn't mean that it won't scratch it.

I suppose that's true.
But then I don't go all Magilla Gorilla with my gas cap either.

Ha! I don't get gas in the ghetto!

If 2 guys are going to steal my car don't you think it would be better to not have the keys on my person?
Of course I can't imagine anyone dumb enugh to try to steal my car while I'm holding the nozzle at the 2 o'clock position! They'd both be drenched in gasoline and easy for the police to identify.

I agree w/Thumper, I don't think you can siphon gas anymore. No locking cap on anything but my bikes (factory intalled on the bikes)

Can anyone that purchased a Motorcraft locking gas cap, tell me where you got it? Did you get it from a dealership. Just asking as, I contacted my local dealer, and ask about a locking gas cap for my 07, and they said that Ford doesn't have one yet.
