Default Bad Gas... I hope...

Pretty sure I got some bad gas, seems like it anyway. I installed a fresh fuel filter, threw in some HEET and an injector cleaner/octane booster and I'm still getting some issues. If the issue doesn't resolve itself by the end of this tank, I will probably just go ahead an upgrade injectors and I'm hoping it's not a fuel pump. Pretty sure it's just bad fuel, maybe water in the mix.

Basically, I can ease on the throttle to get the RPM's up and I don't have any issue, all the way up to 4500 or higher if I like with gradual throttle increase. If I get on the throttle quickly though it bogs down. Sucks air into the Steeda CAI loudly, but sounds like it isn't igniting until I let off the throttle. Like it's choking. Any suggestions? If anyone wants to see the .dat, let me know.

Bolt ons:

Steeda CAI w/ Diablosport Steeda 91 tune. Increased 2 degrees. Run nothing but 93
Bassani X w/ cats

That is your problem...
Additives are a big no-no on our cars...

Seriously doubt that considering it was a worse issue before the additives. The additives actually helped it a bit... before I added that stuff it wouldn't even run hardly.

if that tank doesnt work, try running a can of seafoam. it is like a tune-up in a bottle and gets water out of your gastank...or possibly try reloading your tune

Do ya have any DTCs set?
Some have had to been set with the way you
are describing it to run.
Maybe you got the ever elusive 91 or 87 octane
fuel as some stations have been known to put
91 or 87 into their 93 tank by mistake or on purpose.
Do you think if this happened (human error) that
they would pump the mixed gas out and start all over?
I think not, they will just sell it as 93until its gone.
Have you checked the fuel in your tank for the octane
level before putting all those fuel system seal destroying
additives in there? Water is more viscous that fuel and
too much water thru the injectors and its bad news.
Drain the tank and get some proven 92 in there and see
what happens then.

try the above.....if condition doesn't improve, try cleaning the MAF sensor. if that doesn't work, them my money is on the fuel pump

Heet is fine I run it all the time with no problems in the winter.

I have heard about people having problems after using octane booster additives in our cars though.

There is a specific cleaner for this, too. You can get it at a parts store. Dont use anything else to do this.

Go to a decent station and fill the remainder of the tank (even if its 1/4 tank) with good 93 stuff.

This hapened to me after I filled at my local exxon, the car boged and chocked at 3k let alone 4500. Felt like I was towing a trailer.

BTW: they are correct, be carefull with octane boosters, dont use the ones that use alcohol in the mix, use the ones that are petrolium distilate based. The alcohol in octane boosters is whats know for destroying seals and screwing up injectors.

BTW; I used stp aditive to remedy my issue and burned off the tank until I only had like 12 miles left on it. Then I filled with 93 octane and she is running as sweet as ever.

Another reason I got water in the fuel was, I filled after a rainstorm in an old gass station. Older gass stations have leaky tanks that saturate with water when there is very heavy rainfall. There was a recent news story about a nj gass station that had a line of cars that completly quit running after filling up there and there was a line of cars wating to be towed.

Another thing you want to do is when you burn off this tank of gass, and put in some real 93 octane, do an italian tuneup after 20 0r 30 miles of running the new fuel. By italian tune up I mean get on it and run through the rev range for a few minutes. It will cklean things up and she will be good as new. Our cars need the carbon cleaned out of them every once in a while, I do it weekly.

Well, I got the gas from a Kangaroo station less than 3 months old and this is the first time I've had an issue, I stick to the same fuel company as well. I saved some real time data with the predator...

MAF is great, intake is great, fuel figures are all over the place. As I was saying in my original post, gradual increase in throttle doesn't present too much of an issue, very VERY little lag. It's when I attempt to kick the throttle quick and deep that the car refuses me. Fuel rail pressures and output levels from the pump are weird and inconsistent when graphed side by side to the amount of throttle and air flow. I'll check out all the wiring tomorrow when I get off work. Might just be time to upgrade the pump and injectors...

HEET is not the problem and has never been a problem in any of my vehicles.

I didn't even use a half bottle of additive/booster.

Thanks for all the help guys, keep the theories coming!!
