Default LO-Jack

How many of you ahve Lo-Jack on your '05??? I have the active Anti Theft option, but that's not an alarm.

I am thinking about getting the LoJack Early Warning Recovery System and the Lojack Alarm. Anyone have any experiences with these prodcuts, and / or thier compatability with the anti therft system option that i have.

My '86 GT was snagged on the back of a Tow Truck...hence the reason for double prodection....Like wearing two rain coats

Any input will be much appreciated!

Brian

Okay, straighten me out. The Active Anti Theft System is not an alarm??

"...When the system is armed, it sounds a remotely located alarm sounder, honks the horn and flashes the exterior lights if any of these sensors are tripped: an anti-tow sensor.....an ultrasonic interior-motion sensor.....and perimeter sensors.......

Help me out on this one as I have ordered this system.

Thanks, MobyDickDog

I have the factory anti-theft system (it is an alarm, just don't have a remote alarm is all). I also have it Lojacked. Not their alarm, but the transmitter that the police can track incase the car is stolen.

Very nice Coupe Earl!!!

So did you just get the tracking sensor ? I am thinking about getting that early warning system (or what ever the hell they call it)......

As for the Anti Theft Sytem that I got....Dose it have a sensor if anyone screws with the soft top, are there sensors to pick it up????

There (is what appears to be) are two little sensor looking things on the "map light" housing that appear to be soft top sensors. But the sales guy at the dealer DID NOT point them out to me...then again, he didn't have a clue how to put the back windows up.

He even had the gaul to call me on my mobile today and ask me if I fured out how to put them up....as another sales guy was asking him????? DUH!

So any input on this alarm would help me...otherwise I will have to stop by an other dealer and see if they can help...

Or start another thread about "'05 alarm"

Cheers

Brian

Here are some more blurps on the active anti theft. As far as the Lo-Jack goes, I understand it is great if you learn that your car has been stolen within a couple of hours or the Lo-jack is in a trash dumpster miles away from your car.

I'm looking at using Powerlock in conjunction with the Active Anti Theft. Powerlock may not work if there are 2 starter solenoids on the 2005 Mustang.

The lowjack will not be removed. One, there is absolutely NO indication anywhere that your car has lowjack. Two, there are over 50 places in the car they can put it. Hell, I don't know where it is!

i got my car Lo-Jacked and yes, they wouldn't tell me where they put the transmitter. I didn't get their thing that notifies me when my car is stolen via a phone call, text message or e-mail, as it was VERY expensive! I have a dealer installed alarm and also use the AUTO-Lock, which keeps the brake pedal from being pushed down.
For some reason none of the 2005 Mustangs I've seen had the factory alarms ordered.
Most convertibles need the motion detector so you can keep the top down (for a few minutes) without having to lock up everything or put the top up.
Does the glove box lock in the convert?
