ok guys i bought a saleen supercharger kit with 39lb injectors and a c&l race intake and jdm cold air kit with a lightning 90mm maf. i was waiting on a tune to come in for the install of the supercharger and injectors but i installed the intake maf and cold air kit. now my check engine light has come on abut its not in limp home mode could this be because i need a tune for even those three items? oh also i have a twin 62 mm bbk throttlebody on there as well.

Yeah that is usually the case. If you're running the throttle body and intake, you will really see the most potential gains out of a custom dyno tune in which your Air Fuel, idle, and other parameters are data logged and adjusted accordingly to maximize your gains.

The sensors on these cars are relatively sensitive and so the simple addition of an item such as an air intake that alters air consumption yields a check engine light. Also on a side note, the aftermarket throttle bodies for these cars have proven some issues with idle and tuning. Requires a little bit of messing around until its just right.

If you are curious as to what the exact problem is, plug in your tuner and read the DTC or Codes that it is throwing out. You can clear them, but the CEL will likely reappear until a proper tune is loaded.
