Default Vortech Supercharger

Hey,

Anyone have the Vortech Supercharger installed? I'm wondering how it performs compared to others. I'm on a budget and understand that the Vortech without the aftercooler won't give as much hp, but I'm ok with that as long as it's still worth the cost. I see that Brenspeed offers the package for $4,240, anyone find it cheaper at another reputable dealer?

Thanks!

I have it and love it. Best bang for the buck (any supercharger). You cant go wrong. My only suggestion is if you live in a mountainous area you should look at a twin screw (such as Kenne Bell or Saleen). The Vortech pulls like a sun of a bitch but it ramps up boost with your rpm's so if you play on the curves going thru mountains and such, you will just be building boost and the next curve will come and you will have to get out of it. If you live in flatland as I used to, it cant be beat for the price ...

They are an absolute blast! Back when I got them, everyone said to go 3.73 max. So glad I went 4.10 instead. Especially with a Centri.
Love your car btw.

Gotta throw out the ProCharger as a consideration. Vortech and ProCharger work exactly the same and generate the same hp figures and power curves. Both have 3 yr warranties available. I can sell a COMPLETE kit with intercooler for a bit more (relatively speaking) than what you posted for the Vortech.ProCharger says I cant publicly show a selling price if its below a certain point from MSRP. If you are gonna S/C, might as well do it right the first time w/intercooler. If interested, PM me.
Once you get a taste of the power you'll want more. Intercooling now saves you the time and money spent later on. Personally, I dont see the point of getting approx 100hp more for over $4000, when 200hp more is not much more $$. And its still safe for a stock engine.
