Default Suspension Help

So Now that my body kit is done(Hoods getting put on this week)I am going to start putting money into my suspension but to be honest I dont know where to start. I do know that I want to get the best handling and smoothest ride I can get out of an s197. So does anyone have any suggestion or maybe even a parts list? One thing I know I do not want to do is lower the car. I have enough problems with exhaust and front bumper hitting as it is.

for wheel hop, get the BMR billet aluminum lower control arms. No need for relocation brackets as you aren't lowering the car. If you want more support go with an upper control arm, again no need for an adjustable because you aren't lowering **UNLESS** you have a single piece drive shaft. For shocks and struts I have tokico d specs and love them. I just ordered a bump steer kit because I dont like the road driving my car for me[:@] A BMR sway bar and panhard rod will do you good also

Thanks for the info. Any good sites I can get this stuff from? And what about eibach or steeda components. Any good?

I've heard the prices have changed since I ordered in december, but LM Performance has most of it. I ordered the D specs from hotpart.com though for $503 shipped. Eibach I thought only made springs, not sure about their suspension components if they make them. Steeda makes a good product also, I just decided to go all BMR because of the lowering kit.

no problem man, just make sure you do a good amount of research before you order so you know exactly what you want and how it will help your ultimate goal

Ya, you can mix and match, or just go all one company.. just figure out what you want..

I am on Eibach Sportline Springs (probably too much drop for you..)
with a BMR adj panhard bar, Hellwig rear sway bar (maybe the front, havent decided yet), and soon to be Tokico D-Specs.

I know there is a company on Ebay called JDM-In-Stock that puts D-Specs up online every so often at a "best offer" price that you might be able to work down to $480 shipped..

LCA's might be a good things to consider too.

There is a sticky for a guide to suspension around here somewhere.. I forget where though..

Good luck!

simplexdesign,

I don't know about the sticky (there is this one https://mustangforums.com/m_934501/tm.htm, but it is specifically related to lowering your car and is 14+ pages). Now you might try checking out this thread (https://mustangforums.com/m_4943892/tm.htm) for general info, look for the posts by F1fan, Rodeoflyer, Norm Peterson, and Sam Strano (they are kind of the resident suspension guru's over there). If you can't find your answer in that thread, try and doing search for those guys posts by Author. You will likely find a HUGE amount of information at your fingertips, far more than you probably need . You could also have this moved over to the Handling section, those guys tend to stay there from what I have seen. I know from experience that F1fan responds favorably to PM's when asked (and when you have done a search or two). But you are going to need to be specific about what you want (i.e. what is the car doing now that you don't like and what are your goals? DD? 1/4 Mile? Road Course? SCCA Solo? You get the idea ).

Nice looking Black S197 BTW, like that Cervini's kit!

Good Luck
~Matt
