GT/CS Stripe Removal

GT/CS Stripe Removal
I’ve been debating removing the California Special stripe off the side of my GT/CS… I like it, but I prefer a clean look and think the cars look better without the stripe. Has anyone else done this to their CS? If so, was it a pain removing the stripe? Did it leave any residue?
I assume it will be fairly simple, I removed most of the decals off of my motorcycle with a hair drier and some Goo-Gone.

Heat it up and it should peel right off but it may leave behind some residue.
As for taking it off, put me in the camp that likes the sidestripes. I think the GT/CS stripe is amazing, and aside from the front bumper it makes it easier for people to tell that it is a special edition stang. I'd leave it, but thats just my $.02

Here's another vote for not removing the side stripes on your CS. Other than the side scoops, it's the most obvious distinction between the GT and GT/CS.
But if you must, a heat gun, 3M adhesive remover, and some elbo grease will get the job done.

I hear where you're coming from, but I didn't buy the CS for the side stripe...
I bought it for the front and rear facias and the two-tone leather interior...
Personally, the quality of the stripe reminds me of a Monet... good from afar, but far from good
Frankly, it doesn't matter to me if people can identify it as a CS or not...
It will look exactly the way it should as long as it's the way I want it to look... (my philosophical statement of the day)
Besides, it's a pain to wax around the stripe... [:@]

When was the last time you saw a Monet[&:]?
That wasmy artistic question of the day.
To your question, since your car is fairly new, all you need is a finger nail and they'll come right off. Don't need anychemical or a heat gun.
Just pull slowly and it's gone.
Good luck.

It's your car so you are free to do whatever you want of course.

RE: GT/CS Stripe Removal
I plan to remove my CS side stripe eventually and replace it with a silver CS stripe from Autotrimdesigns. I'm changing the color to go with my plans to superstripe the car in silver metallic. I'm gonna try just peeling it like Pascal mentioned and maybe use a hair dryer to heat it up if need be. After that, just use goo gone for any left over residue.
