After some jackhole in a bigass truck kicked up a rock and cracked it.

But WTF. When I got home from the dealer and wiped the finger and handprints off the thing I have two hairline scratches right in the middle of the windshield. One is almost 4" long. I can see these things every time I'm facing the light.

Is this normal? Should I go back and bug the dealer about this? Seems a little r-tarded to have a $400 windshield put in and have scratches on it.

Thanks. I talked to my dad and he said the same thing. Basically if this scratch was up in an extreme corner I probably would let it go. But right in the middle... meh. No.

Also, he told me that a lot of the glass automakers use now is made in Mexico and that some of it is of pretty low quality. Wonder if that's true.

 

bring it back and make sure it is genuine ford glass
it will have the pony on it
glass is an impotant part of the crash integrity in a car

 

It was genuine ford glass put on at the dealership's body shop.
