TPMS tool compatibility
I been researching the damned TPMS on the 07 and newer vehicles. I want to be able to reset the TPMS without a trip to the dealer, whether they would do it free or for money.
I've read about the magnet reset-will try it one day, hope it works.
I have been looking at the ford TPMS tools, seems there are two-that I've found, pn;
8C2T-1A203-AB seems to be for pickups and vans
8C2Z-1A203-A is for Mustang I think.
They are just little grey boxes with a button and led, about the size of a keychain.
Does anybody know if they are interchangeable with vehicle types??
The Mustang pn seems to be discontinued on certain ford parts sites, my local dealership said they had them, but needed to order. $30
The "van" pn tool is available on ebay sometimes, for around $20
Has anyone tried these? Or does anyone know if they will work on any TPMS vehicle? Anyone try the magnet reset? What about the pvc pipe?
I recieved the warning light after having the car parked for the winter (non IUP) and its beginning to bug me.
I know this topic has been thrashed around a bit, but doesn't seem to be resolved. For something like this to be reset by a dealer, is like getting someone to check your windshield washer fluid for you.
Lets hear some input!

I have the one that comes from the E series van. (Part #8C2Z-1A203-A). Cost $18.00 and works great on my 07 Mustang GT, so now I can switch between 17' and 20' wheel tire combo with out going to the Stealership.
Will someone explain what tool you are talking about or a link to them? I'm getting new 18" wheels/tires and I won't have the sensors in them. I was told the warning light will come on but after a while it will go out. Is this true?
Steeda lists the pn: 8C2Z-1A203-A tool, http://www.steeda.com/products/tire_...mming_tool.php
the other pn: 8C2T-1A203-AB I am still not sure of. I sent Steeda an email to see if they can answer whether both pn's of the above tools will work the same.

start her up and there will be no warning light.

Or,
Remove the TPMS sensors from your old rims,
put them inside some Schedule 40 PVCtube, air
it up to 35PSI toss in trunk and be TPMS warning free.

I just put up with the light for 60 secs or so and it goes out.
