Are you sure? I have the Interior Upgrade Package and I think my steering wheel pieces are plastic.

Yep! I just went out and pulled the steering wheel "fake metal" piece off and it plastic.

1. The plastic fake metal on the steering wheel feels weird and doesn't look right. It doesn't make the wheel feel solid at all all. I almost wish it wasn't there and the wheel was made out of all of the same material. Does the Premium GT/CS still have the fake metal on the wheel or is it a better fake (or real metal)? Would the interior upgrade package give me a more quality steering wheel?

actually, that "fake metal" you speak of is aluminum... it just has a coating on it for the "satin " look

mit might fit better on a different car, mine looks and feels like its a part of the wheel

Stop buying cars for this long a time, it makes no sense according to every expert out there.
That's not entirely true. Let's just say that by keeping my cars for 7-8 years, I've never had a car payment and have never had to finance or lease one. I've always made interest while saving up for my next car, rather than paying it. If you pay cash, there's one less thing that the dealers can nail you on and you don't need to worry about gap and minimum insurance levels. You also spread out the depreciation over a longer period of time, making it less painful (depreciation occurs mostly in the first year and tapers off quickly year after year).

Besides, sometimes cars just get comfortable and familiar like an old pair of underwear.

I have a GT/CS vert, very pleased with interior so far. it's 4 months old leather is getting wrinkled, expectable in any leather seat that I have owned. I'ts very comfortable and gets a lot of attention. Always getting compliments on the stang. You won't be sorry go for it. Visit this forum daily and get all the mod info you can handle.
Thanks for the photos! The vista blue is exactly the one that I've got my eye on. It's absolutely beautiful.

yes im sure

the aluminum is kinda thin, like maybe 2-3 times as thick as the wall of a can of coke

Are you sure? The silver part of the wheel on the rental that I have now is a little scratched up in parts. It doesn't look like metal at all underneath the surface.

Please compare either of these two on a better option in any other car made in america in that class. The mustang has the best attention paid to those parts of any car built here.
That's the problem - there's not much out there to compare them to. Where else can you get a 4-seat V8 RWD convertible for about 30k? You really can't. All of the other convertibles in this class are either FWD (ick) or 2-seaters.

BTW, thanks for taking the time to reply and post all of those pictures. I appreciate it.

you guys gotta admit the interior quality lacks in our cars. the fact that the top of the dash (and parts of the front) is hard plastic when it/they should be slightly padded vinyl or leather really aggrivates the hell outta me - not to mention my door panels are 100% plastic with no padding anywhere (i know some have super thin padding on the "inserts" or w/e you would call them. i have multiple rattles, mostly from mirrors and door panels.

mechanically speaking, the cars are built pretty damn solid - as ford knows these things are going to take some punishment from their owners

I think thats called silver paint. My last two cars: Audi tt and Audi A4 had real aluminum. Go look at one of those and you will see what real metal part look like.

And our so-called "leather seats" are part leather/part vinyl (pleather?)...
