Correct and the back seats are full vinyl no leather anywhere. The mustang has the cheapest interior Ive have in 15 years.
I cant complain to much since im saving on car payments but I just dont get people arguing about how good the interior is.

ORIGINAL: Nuke

And our so-called "leather seats" are part leather/part vinyl (pleather?)...

It ain't no Lexus or BMW. I do like the fact that there is plenty of aftermarket parts so we can personalize our interiors, that's a plus.

you guys gotta admit the interior quality lacks in our cars. the fact that the top of the dash (and parts of the front) is hard plastic when it/they should be slightly padded vinyl or leather really aggrivates the hell outta me - not to mention my door panels are 100% plastic with no padding anywhere (i know some have super thin padding on the "inserts" or w/e you would call them. i have multiple rattles, mostly from mirrors and door panels.

mechanically speaking, the cars are built pretty damn solid - as ford knows these things are going to take some punishment from their owners
My wife has a $30,000 chrysler 300 and it's interior is no better. In fact, it's worse in many cases. The seats aren't very comfortable and the cruise control isn't even integrated into the steering wheel. It looks like an aftermarket cruis control or cruise from the 80's. The floor mats are nice though.

Go look at a toyota camary if you want to see a crappy interior!

The IUP is a must in my opinion. Those V6 rental interior look very cheap. I agree that there are many cars in the 30,000 range that have just as much plastic. My beef is how Ford just throws it all together. I've put foam tape behind/around/on so many plastic-to-plastic contact points I'm probably keeping the foam industry in business. Seriously, it probably cost me $10 to do it. If Ford just upped the invoice price by $10 and did the same thing, the interior of the car would have MUCH less rattles and sound/feel more solidly built, andI bet people would have a much better opinion of it.

One of these days I'll post a "Where to put foam tape in your Stangs interior" thread so new owners can just do it all in one shot instead of waiting for allthe rattles to appear with time.

Fords quality of vehicles is second to no domestic vehicle manufacture currently. Ford has always had amazing interiors compared to the competition as well. I mean just look at the interior of the SUVs and Trucks Ford builds compared to the other companies.

Actually for $395 you an get the "top of the dash" covered in leather and stitched just how you like, and the "door panels" will also be covered in leather and stitched allong the arm rest area and will be very soft.

Seems all of your concerns are aleviated, the mirror squeeks can be fixed by taking your car in for warranty work as that's a warrantied problem too.
