Default which whipple??

ok, im seriously thinking about getting a whipple s/c but i want to know which one to get. They have a 415 hp kit and a 500 hp kit. At this time I have no intentions of pulling out my motor and putting in forged internals because i only have 15k mile on the car and buying the s/c is alot of scratch so i cant do both. I would like to get to 450rwhp because that is what i hear is safe with the stock motor. Will the 415 hp kit get this if you get a good tune (im surethat you can do etter than the canned tune). Can i upgrade the 415 hp kit later to the 500 hp kit (in a few years maybe i can go forged)(do they sell something like this seperately)? Also should i get the black or the polished finish? Intercooled or non intercooled (leaning towards intercooled)? Please let me know your experience!!! Thanks!!

Is your car a manual or an auto?

Get the 500 hp get and get a bigger pulley, then when you get forged internals put it back up to 500.

Sorry, saw you have a MGW on your signature, so is a manual, I would go for the HO (750B '05-'06, 754B for an '07, the diff is in the upper coolant section) but wouldn't use the voucher for the tuneand would get it to be tuned by someone and get sure to be really safe, if you are still worried get an bigger pulley (3.625"≈8#) to play with and save the 10# for later, you can upgrade to an smaller pulley then too.

I would not pay for the polished version and spend the difference in the tuning, for example. But that is just me.

I have done both non -ntercooled and later upgraded to intercooled. Without question the intercooled kit is the way to go from the beginning. This will save you money in the long term and is a whole lot faster. I mean there is a really big difference between the two. There is absolutely no reason to worry about forged engine internals with the H/O kit. If you rev up to 6000 RPM and drop the clutch ten times a day then you will blow your stock motor too. I bought the black supercharger kit because my car is black.Polished is cool but not sure its worth it unless you have polished everything under the hood to match. I also bought everything from my ford dealer and they installed it so it is all warranted from ford. So far I needed to replace a supercharger belt because it had frayed. I seems that when the engine limiter cuts off the the motor the original belt got stressed and frayed. The new belt seems to have that cured. So go supercharged and intercooled, it is the best thing I have ever done to a car!!! You will love it.
