I wouldn't call it a fake, but if it's a tribute to a 1970 Mach 1, why did you use a CDC chin spoiler like that? And shouldn't a Mach 1 have Mach 1 rims? They are available for the S197.

Also the side stripes were lower and wider. They didn't have the Pony and bars badges.
I won't even get into the rectangular fogs, body colored mirrors, louvers, etc that they had!

And the 70's didn't come with superchargers but a Shaker would be pretty correct.
There are tons of photos available to see how to do a correct tribute car and it costs just as much to get the correct part as the incorrect part.
Check some of these out:

I'm not putting the car down as a whole. I think it looks cool.
But it just is going to bother a lot of traditionalist Mustang people to see you calling that a 2006 Mach 1. That's like calling yourself a Michael Jackson impersonator because you wear one glove

Wow. Ok. I am COMPLETELY aware of what a 1970 Mach1 looks like. I realize that some things on the car are not correct. It is in the works. I am constantly modifying things on the car. If i see that something could be improved or "well i wonder what it would look like if i did this"...believe me its not done. But when it is...it's still not going to be a 1970 mach1. It's a 2006! An '03-'04 mach 1 doesn't look like a '70 either. Again, opinions vary, but when the garage door comes up in the morning it's my butt behind the wheel and that's the only thing that matters.

BTW...Of course '70 Mach1's didn't come with superchargers...but why the hell not put one! Easier than cramming a 428 cobra jet under there and getting 7mpg!

Very nice...Don't listen to the haters, especially those making comments about putting Mach 1 rims on your baby. If I ever owned a Mach 1, the first thing I'd do is change the rims [:'(]...

No such thing as a 2006 Mach 1 but your 2006 GT looks good with the styling queues from the 1970 Mach1. I wouldnt go around calling it a Mach 1 because it isnt one.

Have you ever noticed that all of the "HATERS" as these guys call them are the ones that have been members for a long time (5th Gear Members and above with tons of posts). To be honest I thought that the whole point to this site was to be able to ask questions and show off your car a little bit but some of these people are sopesimistic that it almost makes you not want to comment on anything so that you don't have to read there complaining. I see things on here all of the time that are not my taste but I admire anyone that wants to do a little work to maketherecars look good. If I really don't care for the look at all I just don't comment on it. It would be nice if these guys that have all of this knowledge about Mustangs would help byanswering some of our stupid technical questions instead of beating up the guys whose tastes do not conform to theres.

I still think that you have a great car there!

Yes I have. I guarantee that's how some folks achieve 5th gear status.
