That's what I was thinking also, but it just don't work. I've been poking around here on the forum and it looks like we are all in the dark on this one. Not a big deal, I don't use the phone when I'm driving much anyway but if there is a feature why not use it?

i have an 08 and all it does is mute the stereo. maybe yours is bluetooth-ed. in that case, enable your bluetooth on your cellphone and see what happens.

+1 on turning on your bluetooth and then trying it...and then calling the dealership because mine just mutes the stereo...oh wait...that was before I got the AVIC D3 with bluetooth

HAHAHA that is EXACTLY what I wanted to ask about the button too!!! was just afraid people would start responding like we're stupid like they did for you. but now that that's out of the way... yeah it is different than the phone button on the previous years. my 06 said mute under it. I tried enabling the bluetooth on my phone and seeing what happened but didn't get anything. ill try again later. nothing in the manual either! look forward to figuring this out cause it was bugging me too.
