Default Heads done and cams installed

I had the factory heads milled,5 point valve job, ported and polished. Installed Stage 2 Crane cams. I gained 38 horsepower at the rear wheels from the last dyno pulls I did. The horsepower is alot steadier pull on the dyno sheet. Kicks in at 2800 rpm's and goes to 6500 rpms on the sheet. Thats the cool part! The sheet only goes up to 6500, The power was still climbing.Yes, I need a stall converter now to reach the power sooner. The motor is so responsive I dont recognize the car. It feels so tight. I haven't road it hard yet,I want to drive it a couple days for the new valves to seat properly. I know next question. The heads cost $800.00 for both to be done including parts.(new springs,retainers,gaskets...)The cams from RPM outlet. Redyno tune $ 200.00 total cost was about $2200.00. Was it worth it,Absolutely. Sorry guys I dont have a scanner so I cant post dyno sheets.

+1.

How "good" are those cams compared to others.

The stage 2 cams had a higher lift on the exhaust which I prefered. Dons Automotive in Kenosha, Wisconsin did the heads and Dyno tuning. There a direct SCT tuner shop. Meaning there Dyno is online with SCT in Florida. Its cool because while tuning the car SCT is communicating with you with ideas for improvement. The prices are above. Anybody near southern Wisconsin I would Highly recommend them.

was the 38whp improvement from both the cams and porting? I thought porting gave more hp than that alone

Not these heads. Prior 2V heads were good for those numbers. These new 3V heads flowincredibly good. Not too much you can do to them to increase the flow #'s.

I'd like to see those dyno numbers. These 3V heads flow REALLY well which is a main factor of the 300hp factoryrating. Are those rwhp #'s?
