Stick on scoops
Who has an aftermarket stick on hood scoop or side scoops?
Any problems how do you like them?
Do they hold up over time?
I don't really like the idea of a fake scoop but I can't afford a new hood and these cars look really good with hood scoops, so I'm thinking about it.

RE: Stick on scoops
[sm=welcomesign.gif] to the forum and many on here have had few issues with any of the above mentioned parts. I have more non functional stick on parts than most so I will give you my take on this.....PREP is everything and follow the directions...All 3M tape is good and use an adhesion promoter first (made by 3M) and they will hold like factory pieces!!!!!! (afterall thats what the factory uses for all nonfunctional parts-like side scoops)...hope it helps

I don't know about a hood scoop, but I do have the side scoops. The tape really holds well, if I were to try and remove them by force it wouldreally be a struggle so I don't worry about them falling off at all.

RE: Stick on scoops
I have the side OEM scoops used on the GT/CS. They come with the plastic tang fasteners but I did not want to drill holes in my car. Instead, I used the 3M tape that came on the scoops. They're holding up great, it's been 2 years.
The Roush and Ford hood scoops also require drilling. Be careful if you choose to go this route. If you want to install a shaker later on, the holes will not line up with the shaker opening and you will have to weld the holes closed. I was going to install the Roush scoop but then the CDC shaker went on a one day wacky wednesday sale and I picked it up ata good price.

RE: Stick on scoops
I couldn't afford a new hood with the cost of painting it and all soI bought this hood scoop instead...

It attaches with 3M tape and screws. Gotta drill the hood. [:@]
It's just sitting in my garage and I'm waiting for the paint to arrive so I can paint it myself.

I believe the Xenon scoop is a stick on, I just didn't like the way it looked in person. The front is competly solid with a sticker where the opening should be.

Frankly, the 3M tape is so good, I don't know why anyone would need to drill holes to get a scoop to hold. The surface just has to be prepped with the adhesion promoter.
