Default ? on powder coating valve covers

I plan on having my valve covers powder coated by a friend. After cleaning them up and removing the seals in each cover I noticed that one of the covers has a metal breather tubethat is insidethe cover and has a small rubber grommet sealing the tube to inside the valve cover. Does anyone know if this rubber grommet can be removed? Or can it be left intact and withstand the temperatures of powder coating? My freind (the powder coater) thnks this small rubber grommet will melt. And to me, it appears that it cannot be removed from the valve cover and tube without destroying it. Hopefully it can be left in! Thanks, Mike

If you read the Taco Bill write-up on installing valve covers, he shows you at the very end how to remove what you are talking about:

For any type of painting or coating it's always a good idea to remove as much as you can off of the part to be painted/coated. Otherwise you end up with area where peeling could occur or imperfections caused by the unremoved parts reacting with the coating/painting.

I powder coated my valve covers myself.
From what I remember there was some kind of grommet on the pcv hose ports but they are behind a baffle and impossible to remove.
I didn't remove it and didn't have a problem...

Thanks for the info, but the rubber grommet I am talking about is not the cam sensor seals. The rubber grommet I am talking aboutis inside the valve cover on the PCV tube. The PCV tube sticks out of the valve cover. When the tube goes inside the cover, it makes a 90 degree bend and goes into the full length oil baffle cover. Where the tube meets the baffle, there is a rubber grommet. It does not look like I can remove this grommet without destroying something. The grommet is not available from Ford either. I am hoping that this grommet will survive the heat of powder coating. Hopefully somebody knows what I am talking about and can let me know.

I bought my valve covers powder coated and from the looks of them it appears they just taped off that tube during the process. Haven't had any chipping or flaking problems.
