do you have a linear amp hooked up? or at least a peak and tune?

i had a cobra with a peak and tune with a magnetic wilson but i traded it for an AOD tranny

lol.. i love it.. wouldnt mount mine on my dash.. but if i lived in the country.. maybe i would.. but i had a cobra nightwatch .. had the backlight just like the uniden but in green.. that one looks good.. how much power are you puttin out.. and how the fck are you gettin 50 miles out?.. did you tune and all that.. swr?.. etc..

my old one i mounted on passenger side near the glove box, but i like the dash better. i used velcro so its not permanent.... tthe radio is brand new so only 5 watts. but ill have it tuned this week to get my up to around 35 watts, and then later ill drive an amp in my trunk for close to a hundred. but generally you get about a mile per watt of power so ill be transmitting pretty far..

if you take your radio to any local shop they will get you to 30 watts easily. and youd be suprised how far you can transmit.
