Default Dead Battery Issue

I'm not sure if the search feature was effected with whatever caused the issues with this site yesterday, but I got back exactly ZERO responses with my search on "Battery" and "Dead Battery"..

Anyway, I vaguely remember seeing a posting about a battery issue. I now have had a second occurrence of my batter going stone cold dead over the last few months. This car is my 2nd car and at times can sit for a week or two without being used. Normally there is no issue with it starting at all.

Both times this happened, I triple checked to make sure I hadn't left something on that killed the battery. Obviously, there must be some kind of drain that killed it both times, but that doesn't explain why all the other times the car sat for long periods of time, there was no issue with the car starting.

Does anyone have a link to the past posts?

And yes, I did have the water leak issue. Several trip to the deal finally fixed it, so I do expect that it could be the culprit, but am looking to see if anything else has been identified.

Thanks!

Default RE: Dead Battery Issue

Has happened many times on my 06 gt. It's not a dd and gets very limited use so far, with the weather here in illinois. Have had to run my battery charger a few times and its good. I'll be looking to get an exchange at the monkey dealership for the defective battery and the skipper 500. Which sure as hell skips a lot more than it plays. I didn't leave anything on that killed the battery. A lot of people say the shaker has power still going to it if you have the radio on when you turn car off, but i always turn it off when I get in the driveway.

do you have a capacitor hooked up to an aftermarket stereo system or a radar detector that gets left on over night...both have happened to me and resulted in dead battery...

Great point. I neglected to indicate that I DO NOT have any aftermarket electronics on this. Just the stock Shaker 500
