Default Kumho ecsta SPT

i was wondering what you guys thought of these tires? they come in 255/50/17 and i want to get them for my replacement tires of my stock pirellis.

my tires right now are really low on tread and i can't hook up worth a crap, so hopefully these tires will help.

crap.. imo.. kuhmo in general is for like.. low pro, 17's for the honda.. not saying its rice.. saying that i worked at discount tire, and thats what we always put them on..

dont get me wrong.. the SPT's are probably the only tire i would but from them.. but in suggestion, have you looked into nitto?.. maybe theres a size issue there.. but i would search out my other options (if any) before going with kumho.. but the SPT's are going to be one of their better tires..

For 255/50/17, I think the Nitto NT 555 Extreme might be the best choice.

i'll keep looking but another reason is the kumhos were pretty cheap too and one of the few tires in that size

I had Kumho Ecsta 712's on my last stang 275/35/18's and I liked them fine. They were pretty loud and tracked alot on the highway, but those things arent high priorities to me. The price was right and the stuck good. Bought them at Discount .

Take a look at the Nitto Invo's. 260 tread wear rating and come in 255/50/17. For traction always find the lowest TW rating.

555 are TW of 300 for comparison. Any summer performance tire will be better than the stock perilli's.

INVO's are next for me personnaly. Good luck.

Lots of reviews on tirerack.com for the kumho's, all good. Read the reviews from people with experience with similar tires. I've owned 2 sets of kumho's (not the spt's) and both worked great.

Those are the tires i'll be moving to, unless someone makes a wider 17 that's 27 inches tall, or taller.

Ive got SPTs in 235/50R18 right now on the Mustang. They arent the ultimate in grip, but for the price they are an excellent tire. Lots of grip, ride isnt bad. Ive only put ~8,000 miles on them, but they are wearing ok. Been through a couple downpours, and the rain traction is good. Not nearly Eagle F1 GS-D3 good (I miss those tires, but they are EXPENSIVE), but pretty good.
