Default Thrown off the track...again. I need a roll cage!

I went to the track this last Sunday to do a little drag racing. I went with my street tires as last time with my slicks I ran a 10.30 and they asked me to leave (no roll cage). I figured I'd play nice and run with out spraying and play a little with launching the car on street tires. Anyways 4th run I did it again, got thrown off for no roll cage and a 11.4 @ 124 mph all motor no spray!

Here are a couple vids! I know the reaction times suck! There was no one in the other lanes and I was really just trying to adjust RPM's and get the launch right for my street tires (never got it just right before getting asked to leave).

So the point of all of this is I need a roll cage!!! BAD!!!

I think I know what I want but would like to see what some of you guys with cages have. So if you have your stang caged post up! Give me some ideas!

Just out of curiosity? What exhaust setup are you running. Sounds really good.

Nice numbers too!

Are you going to be building the cage yourself or having someone do it for you?

It's Kook's LT's and O/R X with Magnaflow cat backs. Of course the 5.4L Gt500 motor contributes to the sound!!

Yeah, I was sure I could stay above 11.5 on my street tires and with out spraying....no luck! It's definetly roll cage time!

Here's one of my 10.3 run. Sorry about the video....I fired the camera man! [8D] It was in an earlier thread that got lost with the recent crash!

Going to have it built by Vic at Eastexas Race Cars.

You should take the video from the side, it makes your car look faster. Also running 600+ hp in a mustang GT is crazy, you could have probably paid for a GT500 and tune with your investment, the difference is only 12k for the invoice.

The videos are taken from the back so I can see what the suspension is doing on the car. I'd prefer the video from directly behind the car, but the camera persondidn't have proper attire for the start line.

Yeah I could have had a GT500. However, It be pretty crazy to cut up a GT500 and replace all the parts with race suspension. Cut some more of it up to put in a roll cage. Drop the 6 speed out for a 3 speed race transmission with a transbreak......

The vision that I had for the car didn't really fit with a GT500 at the time I purchased it. Don't get me wrong I like the GT500, it just wasn't the right platform for what I wanted to do. Heck, I might get a GT500 pretty soon, I just need a larger garage![8D]

HAHAHA welcome to the club! Everytime I go to the track I get about 3 runs in before they tell me to leave. The problem I have is this car is a street car and I usually drive it to work when the weather is good as I only work 4 miles from home and have covered parking at work. Since I drive it so often to work, I don't want a cage.

Besides, can you imagine a guy getiing in and out of a caged race car in dress attire? LOL
