RE: FRPP/Borla Stingers automatic
I have a 5-speed car, and have owned both FRPP and Corsas. They both are loud at WOT, the Corsas hum happily at idle, the FRPP have more throaty rumble at idle, the FRPP drone like crazy at 1800-2100 or right at highway speed in 5th. Made me shift down to fourth and say the hell with MPG. Corsas have no drone at all so I am happy with the exchange. The guy I sold the FRPP is happy as a clam so to each there own.

If you're going to do that, please get them from that link and only spend $400. Otherwise, you'll kick yourself should you decide to sell them and then can only get like $300 back.

RE: FRPP/Borla Stingers automatic
I have the catback. It's just the axlebacks and new over-axle pipes made out of better steel and with milder bends and no crimping.
The stock exhaust is not really a true 2.5" exhaust because there are two points of restriction that I know of......one is just before the cats and the other is on the over-axle pipes. At both of these places the piping is flattened on one side like a "D" shape instead of an unrestrictive "O" shape like it's supposed to be with mandrel bent pipes. I don't know if this makes any difference in the drone or tone of the exhaust note, but it has to make at least a slight difference in power output. I now have a MAC prochamber midpipe with my Borla stinger catback, so I don't have any dumb crimping in my exhaust anymore.
The catback is more expensive, but it's debatable whether the extra cost is worth it.
