Default vortech V3 tunes for automatic

Hi !

I just installed the Vortech V3 std kit on my Mustang. I installed the supplied tune and it behaves a little bit strange. When put the stick in D position it feels pretty much the same as an non S/C mustang(well, almost :-)) When I manually put the stick in the 1 position then it feels like all the extra power is there at once, just a small touchon the pedal threatens to break my neck !!Thedifferens is like day and night. Now, does anyoneknows ifthat's the way it should be ? I would like to have a tune that gives me the powerwhen i put the stick in the D position.I guessI can try to ask Vortech/Diablosport but anyone here that has a Vortechon an autowho has the same experience ?

you mean the auto shifter? your car is an auto and doesnt preform well while in "D" (drive)?

Actually you can "manually" shift all S197 auto's. Comes in handywith traffic when you need better speed control like inwith amanual or you want to engine brake so you don't have to be constantly going between gas and brake.

You start at one and can push the shifter up to the next gear or leave it in whatever gear you feel like, 1, 2, 3, 4 (D with O/D off) or let it go to fifth (D with O/D on and cruising). You can also down shift it. I normally drop it into second if I know I'm going to be exiting a turn at a pretty good clip. Nothing is worse when you get on the gas midway through a turn and the tranny upshifts on you or decides to down shift for better acceleration. Totaly shifting the weight of the car mid turn and throwing off the balance (dangerous)

That's wierd. Drive should start off in 1st just as if you put it in 1st yourself. Maybe "D" is messed up, meaning it's
not dropping it into 1st and actually starting off in 2nd. I would test this by putting it in "D" and watch your
rpm vs speed, then compare it to manually putting it into 1st. Ex: lets say you put it in 1st and at 4000 rpm
you're going 30 mph. Then you test it in "D" and if at 4000 rpm you're doing 42 mph, then you have your answer.
Note that when you test in "D", you'll have to accelerate at least 3/4 throttle to keep it from shifting up a gear
before your reach 4000 rpms.

Oh, when I start in the D position everything works normally, it starts on 1:st gear, so thats not the problem.I'm not sure this is a problembut when I manually put the stick to 1:st it feels likeit's reacts faster on the gaspedal, it'salmost as I have all the extra 150 hp at once then.Hope you get it ! I will run on the dragstrip thsi weekend anddosome test to see which way is fastest.

Iordered the S/C from SummitRacing, Vortech build and sent it to me. Don't think that Summit has put the V3 version of theS/C on their web yet.
