Default how often do you change your oil

Simple question, I just hit +3,000 since my last and was wondering if I should wait till 5,000. What type of oil do you all use? I plan on doing it myself.

Thanks.

I used to use Mobil 1 and changed it at 5,000 miles. I recently went to Amsoil and am going to go 10,000 miles.

I changed my oil when i first got it, and every 3000 miles after that. Moble 1 synthetic is pretty good from what i hear.

If you go synthetic you would be ok changing it every 5-6000 miles and not have a problem. Ihaven't put that many miles on my car a year yet so I just changed it after being in the garage all winter.

Depends on the climate and driving habits.
Normal driving with Mobil-1 Synthetic - 5K
Hard driving hitting the revs a lot - 3K
Really hot climates require more frequent changing.
You can evaluate your oil by looking at it at changing
and determine if you need to change it more regularly.
You can also send a sample off for testing and they
will tell you what shape your used oil is in.

I usually go 3K-4K for dino oil, and 5K-6K for synthetic. Could probably go longer, but old habits die hard. Never had an oil-related problem of any kind.

Changed to Castrol Syntec 5w 20w at 1000 miles, plan to change every 5000 unless oil looks dirty.

I use Mobile 1 and change it once a year. I don't put many miles on my car in a year either. Maybe 2,000 miles per year. I alsodon't drive itduring the winter.

I have not gone to full syn yet and still go dino oil. But I also don't run mine ragged so I say every 3,000. I think I will transfer to a syn in the future and than prob go 4 or 5 between changes.
