Hey, if you finally got it, and you feel good about it, that is all in the world that matters.

I'm just saying...I got a GT Premium, 5 speed, colormatch interior, IUP, MyColor, Shaker1000, side airbags, active anti-theft, window tint, care guard, 5/50 hazard on the tires&wheels, and 5/50 extended warranty for $28k. TT&L out the door for under $32k ( actually substantionally less than that if you count the down payment ). I know California tax are steep, but Texas taxes aren't cheap.

The auto trans option is a grand more, and I think the 100K mile warranty is overpriced (but worth it in the long run). Since all I paid was sticker, I sure can't complain.

Besides... the way property values in SoCal have gone up recently, this is basically free money... so who cares? lol I still have another investment property being built (completion in July), and I should make about $50K - $75K profit on that one, too [not bad for a $5,000 investment and about 9 months waiting].

I love that color you are really lucky to have your son looking out for you like that. When I order mine my son 19 was more excited they I was when I picked her up.

Good luck and let him take for a spin. I taught my son how to drive stick on mine.

The wife and I went cruising today, through the mountains near San Diego. We racked up a couple hundred miles -- most on winding, twisting roads. Beautiful day, beautiful car, beautiful ride. Even in the backcountry, we had people staring and giving us "thumbs up", and asking questions about the car. We even managed to get the speedo to 110mph while we were on the Interstate for a short time.

BTW, when we stopped for lunch on the way out of town, we accidently came across a local hot rod gathering (didn't even know it was going to be there). The highlight of that show was when a brand new Ford GT (not a Mustang... but a $230K GT) rolled in. What a piece of art!! The same dealer that sold me my car, sold this one the same day.

Here are a few pics (including the GT!!)

I got mine in a similar way. I sell Fords in Olympia and my wife has been salivating over the new 05 since we sold our last 65 two years ago. I planned on ordering an 05 in early spring, but by December our entire 05 GT alocation had a name and a 1000 dollar deposit holding the vin. Talk about demand.... So I told my wife we'd half to wait till 06. Then I walk into work after two days off and there she is...a torch red convertible GT with the red interior and the shaker 1000 sound system, my color dash...friggin perfect...the exact one I built on the ford web site. My heart damn nearly stopped. Then I found out something almost unbelievable...the fool who ordered this perfect car was notified two days ago and had not picked up his car. Not only that, he would not return the salesman's phone calls. My GM told me that come five o'clock if he hadn't picked up the car it would be for sale. I called my wife. I told her what happened...she said you can't do this to me. I said get over here now! She came over. We went on a test drive. I was shaking after I accidently passed a pack of cars at 100 miles an hour on the freeway. I took it on a country road with some s-curves. It hugged the road like it was a roller coaster and a Thurston County Sheriff was polite enough to pull me over and tell me I took 25 mile an hour curves at 53, and that was after I hit my breaks when I saw him. I told him I worked for the dealer and my wife was with me and he gave me break...after he checked out my car and then asked me if he came up to the dealership if he could test drive one. I told him sure and shook his hand. After we drove off we laughed and said now we have to buy it. At 5:00 I slapped down my credit app and my boss told me our owner said he would not sell any Mustang on Ford employee plan purchase and I said, "I don't give a damn. Its mine. I'll pay the 2nd sticker. Its worth it and more." He let me buy it at MSRP $33,850. That was four weeks and 1100 miles ago. I haven't stop smiling yet. The car has an unbelieveable ride. And wicked fast...0-60 in 5.2 seconds? If you baby it. I've only put the magnaflows on and 0-60 feels like 3 seconds. Of course I drive a stick like I'm racing the Melinuum Falcon out of the Death Star. The redline govenor needs some tweeking too. I'm going to dyno this beast next week. EVERYONE STARES at the car. I've had people stop on my block, get out of their cars, and freak out over this car. I've been selling cars for 4 years and I've never been this ballistic over any car.
