Whipple... do it yourself?
I have heard that the Whipple install is tedious but not overly difficult. Could 3 guys with moderate automotive knowledge knock it out in a day or two, or is it best to call a professional. Does Whipple send a tune, or do you have to have it custom tuned?
I'd reccomend leaving it up to a pro...watched some of the install and I like to call myself quite the installer and I can do a lot of things as far as following instructions and putting things together...plus if something goes wrong they have all the tools there to do the work and you might not so then you are stuck with a car that possibly might not run...plus it's a 75 page manual lol
I would say if you have very good knowledge of how things work with experince working with engines or have been working on cars/ engines for some time or have had professional training at a mechanics institute I would say do it yourself. If your just the average joe that tools around under the hood installing minor things then I would say don't even try it. Just my 0.02
After spending the dough for the supercharger, I'd saya "little" morecashfor a professional install would be worth it just for peace of mind. Especially if they can custom tune it for ya.
Do your homework and you'll be fine.
Took me about 20+ hours and only needed the extra set of hands for the belt install. You can do it and you'll be glad when it's over.

It was EASY. Anyone who can read and follow instructions should be able to do this install in a 3 day weekend. Like you said in the OP, it's not difficult, but it can be tedious at times.
I WILL be installing mine MYSELF! If I can tear down my LS1 and install a Cam, valve springs, pushrods, oil pump, timing chain,etc...
installing a twin screw on the 4.6 will be a walk in the park!!!
