shifter dust boot pro 50
If you have a pro 50 shifter, how did you modify the inner (rubber) dust boot to fit around the pro 50 shifter base? Does it seal well? I bought a used pro 50, and i'm still debating whether or not i want to install it.....i don't want a lot of extra noise or heat coming in the car. let me know, thanks.
it seals well, no dust coming up, no road noise or heat, it's very good.
did yours come w/ a shifter ****?
i just got my pro 5.0 billet shifter **** and it looks real sharp w/ it.

it was used, i had to buy a handle and ****. how did you modify the boot? it's made to seal around the base of the stock shifter and on the handle shaft. did you just enlarge the (lower) hole, or did you just stretch the crap out of it? i assume the new shifters don't come with the rubber boot and you reused the old one?
by the way, thanks.
by the way, thanks.
good deal, any other suggestions before i start installing it? did you pull the old shifter out the bottom and install the new shifter from the bottom? or did everything go in and out the top?
I installed the rubber boot over my Pro50 with no problems too. Didn't require much stretching at all. When I installed my shifter I did I had someone feed it from the top and secured it underneath. Extra set of hands always makes installs easier.
Word of advice though, I would leave the two nuts, that secure the arm to the base, a little loose. Just slightly threaded on there. So when your dropping the shifter from the top, or working underneath, this allows some "wiggle" room. Then use some loctite and tighten them up.
